{"id":204090,"date":"2022-04-25T02:15:38","date_gmt":"2022-04-24T19:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/?p=204090"},"modified":"2022-04-25T03:01:00","modified_gmt":"2022-04-24T20:01:00","slug":"thailand-lifts-testing-rule-1-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/2022\/04\/thailand-lifts-testing-rule-1-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Thailand lifts testing rule 1 May"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BANGKOK, 25 April 2022: Thailand has eased\nits testing requirements for international travellers effective 1 May,\naccording to an announcement made last Friday by the country\u2019s Centre for\nCovid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new rules still require travellers to register on the Thailand Pass app&nbsp; (<a href=\"https:\/\/tp.consular.go.th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">https:\/\/tp.consular.go.th\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E<strong>ase up of rules for fully vaccinated travellers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You must show proof of\ninsurance cover of USD10,000 and your vaccination certificate logging details\non the Thailand Pass.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You do not need to show proof\nof a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR test or undergo a test on arrival in Thailand.\nNo arrival test of any kind.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You do not need to book the\nfirst night hotel or participate in Test and Go or Sandbox schemes due to end\nby 30 April.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Self ATK test only if you have\nsymptoms.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The new rules apply to all vaccinated\ntravellers who register their application to visit Thailand through the\nThailand Pass starting 29 April for entry to the country on or later than 1 May\n2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news relating to the easing of rules\nwas officially confirmed by a Tourism Authority of Thailand Newsroom statement\non 22 April. The changes will be announced in the Royal Thai Government Gazette\nthis week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travellers must still register on the Thailand Pass app giving details of their Certificate of Covid-19 Vaccination and proof of an insurance policy with cover for no less than USD10,000 (down from USD20,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you pass through Thailand&#8217;s\nimmigration checkpoints, you can travel freely anywhere in the country. Mask\nwearing in public places is still mandatory,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Latest rules for unvaccinated travellers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International travellers who are\nunvaccinated or are not fully vaccinated will no longer need to show proof of a\npre-arrival negative RT-PCR test. They will not need to undergo an arrival\ntest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They must register for a Thailand Pass with\na five-day confirmed hotel booking and show proof of an insurance policy with\ncoverage of no less than USD10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once arriving in Thailand, they must\nundergo quarantine for five days and undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exceptions to the rule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unvaccinated travellers who can show proof\nof a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel via the Thailand Pass\nsystem can enter and travel freely anywhere in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advisories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in Thailand, both vaccinated, and unvaccinated travellers are advised to strictly follow health and safety standards, including mask-wearing. Travellers who are experiencing Covid-like symptoms should get tested.
