Speaking as part of the Sabre Ascent series, Menon said that\nfor March 2022, Thomas Cook (India) is seeing a domestic corporate travel\nrecovery of around 70% of pre-pandemic levels, with international corporate\ntravel starting to follow the same trajectory.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Madhavan-Menon-2-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-203702 lazyload\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/450;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>His comments mirror the latest figures released by Sabre in\nits filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which provides\nupdated recovery figures for 1 to 28 March compared to the same period in 2019.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sabre filing said: \u201cWhile domestic and leisure bookings\nhave continued to lead the recovery, international and corporate bookings have\nimproved at an accelerating rate since January 2022. We expect the March 2022\nrecovery versus the same period for both international and corporate bookings\nto be at their highest levels since the pandemic started.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first-ever Sabre Ascent session, Menon also told\nSabre\u2019a Bengaluru GCC vice president and managing director Jaya Kumar K,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>that he expects technology to play a \u201cfar greater role\u201d in\ncorporate travel as business travellers expect increased, targeted information\nto help them navigate travel in a Covid-19 world as well as a much more\npersonalized approach.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menon said that Sabre is \u201cleading this crusade of evolving\ntechnology in the travel industry, and that is not something which should be\nunderestimated\u201d because his company would not have made so much progress\nwithout global distribution technology.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The webinar also addressed the challenges and opportunities\nbrought about by the pandemic and the evolution of domestic tourism, new trends\nin personalization, whether sustainability is top of mind moving through the\npandemic and the evolving demands of travellers in this new age of travel.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back at the pandemic,&nbsp; Menon noted: &#8220;What was initially seen as\na challenge turned out to be an opportunity. I don&#8217;t think any of us had faced\na challenge of this kind, but there was a realization you&#8217;re not alone, and\neverybody is facing the same problem.
