PHUKET 18 September 2026: I first visited the Phuket Four Points by Sheraton in 2021, when I inspected the property as a possible venue for a future conference.

I remember being impressed then, so I was delighted to be invited back recently to update myself on the hotel and its facilities.

Phuket’s impressive Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort

The timing of that first visit is worth remembering. Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort officially opened on 1 October 2020 (the first Four Points in Thailand) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so when I first inspected the property in 2021, it was still a very new resort. Opening a 600-room beachfront hotel during one of the most difficult periods the global travel industry has ever faced was no small undertaking, making its subsequent development and success all the more noteworthy.

Having recently attended a conference in Phuket’s Laguna area, I took the opportunity to extend my stay on the island and spend four days and three nights at Four Points.

What struck me immediately was how little this 600-room resort feels like a 600-room hotel.

The property is predominantly low-rise, with water and tropical landscaping playing an important role in its design. There is an almost lagoon-like quality as you walk through the resort, with pools, narrow waterways and water features appearing throughout the grounds.

For me, one of the most enjoyable areas is The Deck Beach Club. Its infinity-style pool and beachfront setting create a lively atmosphere, helped along by music and a DJ, while attentive staff circulate with menus and drinks. Plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas meant I never felt overwhelmed, despite its popularity.

Families are also particularly well catered for. The Little Sea Gypsies Kids’ Club was supervised every time I passed it on the way to my room and, judging by the number of young guests using it, clearly fulfils its purpose very successfully.

The accommodation itself deserves mentioning. There are eight room types, and I found the contemporary design comfortable and practical rather than unnecessarily elaborate. High ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows give the rooms a sense of space, while some categories have balconies, ocean views, or terraces providing direct access to the pool.

I was particularly interested to discover the Superior Triple Rooms, an increasingly useful option for families and groups of friends travelling together.

Superior triple rooms

They overlook the resort pool and accommodate up to three guests with a sofa bed, with configurations including either a king bed or two double beds.

It is a simple idea, but in my opinion an important one. Too often three people travelling together are forced either to book two rooms or compromise on comfort. Here, the third guest can be accommodated properly while everyone remains together.

There are also pool-access rooms for those who want to step directly from their private terrace into the water, while families wanting considerably more space can choose a two-bedroom Family Suite, complete with a separate children’s room and specially designed facilities for younger guests.

For those interested in meetings and conferences, however, this resort has another side altogether.

The conference facilities were one of the principal reasons for my original visit in 2021, and they are even more impressive today. The Akara Grand Ballroom now features an enormous 9m by 5m LED wall, opening up considerable possibilities for conference organisers and event planners. The ballroom accommodates up to 500 guests and is complemented by a junior ballroom and numerous meeting and breakout rooms.

With two levels of meeting facilities, escalator access, generous reception and pre-function areas and extensive indoor and outdoor event space, I found myself once again thinking that this is a serious conference hotel disguised rather cleverly as a beach resort.

Food and beverage was another highlight of my stay.

I particularly enjoyed Sears & Co. Bar and Grill, where guests can dine indoors in air-conditioned comfort or outside overlooking Patong Beach. The resort runs numerous dining promotions, including grilled meats, seafood and seasonal buffet offerings, adding welcome variety for guests staying several nights.

Breakfast at Chao Leh Kitchen deserves a special mention. In my opinion, it is one of the most extensive hotel breakfast buffets I have encountered in recent years.

Rather than one seemingly endless buffet line, the food is divided among different kitchen areas, offering Asian, Indian and Western favourites alongside traditional breakfast dishes. The selection seems endless, and during my stay it was extremely well patronised. Despite that, service remained efficient, friendly and remarkably well organised.

Location is another major advantage.

The hotel sits directly opposite Patong Beach. Cross the road, and you are on one of Phuket’s best-known stretches of golden sand, extending for approximately three kilometres.

I took an early morning exercise walk along the beachfront and found it one of the most fascinating walks I have enjoyed recently. (I walk a lot). Patong is already coming alive at 0630. Vendors prepare for the day, people exercise, restaurants and stalls open, and massage areas and beach businesses gradually spring into action.

Later, of course, the beach becomes considerably livelier. There is parasailing, jet skiing, and other water sports, along with volleyball, food vendors, restaurants, and the almost continuous energy Patong is famous for.

And that, for me, is part of the attraction. You can enjoy the facilities and relative calm of a large resort. Yet the moment you step outside, you are very much in Phuket, with Patong Beach and its extraordinary mixture of people, food, entertainment, and activity immediately in front of you.

For anyone considering a stay, it is also worth checking the hotel’s website before booking, as seasonal packages and special offers are regularly available. Marriott Bonvoy members should also check the benefits and rates available to them, which can add further value to a Phuket stay.

Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort manages an interesting balancing act. It is large without feeling enormous, lively without being overwhelming, and equally capable of accommodating a couple, three friends sharing a room, a family holiday, a beachfront escape, a wedding, or a substantial international conference.

Five years after my first inspection, I found a resort that has matured considerably.

Sometimes returning to a hotel tells you much more than visiting it for the first time. In this case, I came away more impressed than I had been in 2021.

Located outside of Hyderabad, the resort site sits a 60-minute drive from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (approximately 71 km) and a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the Hyderabad city centre (approximately 90 km), placing it within easy reach of one of India’s fastest-growing metropolitan markets while remaining immersed in an undisturbed, nature-led setting.

Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort will comprise 185 keys, with rooms starting at 48 sqm, and will include 47 pool villas ranging from 90 to 280 sqm. An additional 50 branded residences will be developed adjacent to the resort, extending Anantara’s luxury hospitality to owners seeking a permanent address on the reservoir.

The resort will feature dining options, including an all-day dining venue, two speciality restaurants, and a wellness café, plus a lobby lounge and poolside bar.

Leisure facilities will include an Anantara Spa, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool, and a kids’ club. The resort will also cater to destination events and meetings with its ballroom, multiple breakout rooms and an event lawn for outdoor functions.

Minor International Chairman & Founder William E Heinecke noted: “Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort reflects what the Anantara brand does best — it brings guests closer to the authentic character of a destination. The project’s waterfront setting and distinctive design vision allow us to build that immersion properly. Partnering with Ashya Group on this project marks a significant step in strengthening our presence across Southern India.”

Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort is the latest addition to Minor Hotels’ expanding presence in India. The group introduced the Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand to the country in 2025 with the opening of the Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel. Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort joins a growing pipeline of projects in India as Minor Hotels works towards its target of 50 properties within the next decade, including Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Anantara Kolkata Hotel, announced in April 2026 and Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort in 2025.

SINGAPORE, 17 September 2026: Club Med is inviting travellers to discover a different side of Japan this winter through four distinctive Hokkaido resorts: Club Med Tomamu, Club Med Sahoro, Club Med Kiroro Grand and Club Med Kiroro Peak.

Japan has long been a favourite destination for travellers across the region, and Hokkaido offers a compelling way to experience the country from a different perspective. Beyond its renowned powder snow and ski slopes, Japan’s northern island brings together dramatic mountain landscapes, regional gastronomy, indigenous heritage and natural hot springs, creating a winter escape that extends well beyond skiing.

“Premium travel today is increasingly defined by experiences that create lasting memories rather than simply ticking destinations off a list,” said Club Med Singapore and Malaysia General Manager Olivier Monceau. “For many travellers, a snow holiday represents an opportunity to step into an entirely different experience, whether that’s waking up to mountain views, enjoying world-renowned powder snow, discovering Japanese cultural traditions or simply slowing down and reconnecting with family and friends.”

For travellers, part of the appeal of a Club Med snow holiday lies in the freedom to settle into the experience simply. With accommodation, ski lift passes, group ski and snowboard lessons, gourmet dining, family activities and more brought together under one premium all-inclusive stay, the practicalities of a winter escape are taken care of, leaving more time to enjoy the mountains, discover the destination and make the most of being away. This ease and flexibility have resonated strongly with travellers across the region, with Club Med recording strong demand for snow holidays in 2025, reflecting the growing appeal of its all-inclusive mountain resorts and winter experiences.

The experience is also recognised by travellers, with Club Med’s Hokkaido resorts earning strong accolades in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best rankings. Club Med Tomamu was named No. 1 among Top Hotels in Japan, while Club Med Kiroro Peak and Club Med Sahoro ranked seventh and 10th respectively. Tomamu was also ranked third among Japan’s luxury hotels. All four resorts are also Green Globe certified.

With four distinctive resorts spread across the island, Club Med gives travellers the chance to experience Hokkaido through different lenses, whether they are chasing adventure, family bonding, cultural immersion or a refined alpine retreat.

Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido

Set in a 145-hectare estate, Club Med Tomamu is Hokkaido’s winter playground, where adventure meets entertainment. Beyond its slopes, the resort offers experiences rarely found in traditional ski holidays: guests can explore the nearby Ice Village, take part in weekly cultural festivities, and savour Hokkaido’s fresh seafood, premium Wagyu beef, and speciality Japanese yakiniku.

Club Med Sahoro Hokkaido

Club Med Sahoro offers a different side of Hokkaido. Set within a low-density ski domain, guests can explore the heritage of the indigenous Ainu people through hands-on cultural activities, savour authentic Japanese izakaya-style dining, enjoy the resort’s only restaurant of its kind in the Club Med Hokkaido collection, and unwind in an outdoor Canadian bath surrounded by snow-covered mountain scenery. The experience is less about adrenaline and more about the art of slow travel, where cultural immersion, wellness and family connection take centre stage.

Club Med Kiroro Grand

Hidden in one of Hokkaido’s snowiest regions, Club Med Kiroro Grand offers a contemporary family retreat surrounded by untouched nature. Welcoming guests of all ages, with kids’ facilities from two years old, the resort combines adventure and relaxation through its extensive ski-in, ski-out terrain, family-friendly facilities and immersive experiences inspired by Hokkaido’s natural beauty.

Club Med Kiroro Peak

Part of Club Med’s exclusive collection, the brand’s most elevated tier of resorts worldwide, Club Med Kiroro Peak offers a sophisticated, adults-only interpretation of the winter holiday, designed exclusively for guests aged 12 and above. Surrounded by pristine mountains and renowned powder snow, the ski-in, ski-out resort caters to couples, friends and discerning travellers seeking a more intimate alpine retreat.

PATTAYA, Thailand, 15 September 2026: The 7th Fitz Club Squash Tournament came to a thrilling conclusion following three action-packed days of intense competition, outstanding sportsmanship and memorable moments on court.

Bringing together passionate squash players and spectators, the tournament delivered a fun-filled weekend that celebrated not only the competitive spirit but also the friendships and camaraderie that continue to strengthen Pattaya’s growing squash community, making it more than just a sporting competition.

The tournament drew an impressive international field, welcoming players from France, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, and more.

Congratulations to Kim Jin Oh of Korea on his outstanding performance and well-deserved victory, with Sathid Sujittapiban of Thailand finishing as runner-up.

The highly anticipated final kept spectators on the edge of their seats, with both players demonstrating exceptional finesse, determination and fighting spirit right through to the final point. Their closely contested rallies and relentless efforts to keep every ball in play created an exciting atmosphere on court, with enthusiastic cheers from spectators adding to the match’s intensity. Their journey to the final was equally impressive, as both players battled through the tournament from the opening day, producing consistently competitive matches and proving their determination to reach the top.

The tournament would not have been possible without the generous support of our valued sponsors, Starmakes, Wine Dee Dee Co., Ltd., Kasch, Ouayporn Panit and Blue Ocean Inter Group. Their kind support and contribution helped make this year’s tournament a success, and we sincerely thank them for being part of this exciting sporting event.

For Dewan, the project represents much more than the completion of a hotel. As Lead Designers for the hotel component, the practice worked to create a destination that meets an international operator’s expectations while establishing a distinctive identity rooted in Da Nang, thanks to Dewan’s 10-plus years in Vietnam.

“Working with Dewan, we’ve brought the TUI Blue ‘Hotels designed for you’ philosophy to life on the banks of the Han River. The design seamlessly integrates our core brand pillars — authentic local experiences and modern wellness — with Da Nang’s vibrant energy,” said TUI Blue River Pre-opening and General Manager, Axel de Boynes.

BANGKOK, 11 September 2026: International boutique hospitality group The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is entering a new phase of growth with the opening of The First Cortina by The Pavilions on 4 December 2026.

The 76-key First Cortina’s rejuvenation of one of the most desirable addresses on the famous Corso Italia expands the group’s European footprint and heralds a significant evolution of the group’s portfolio into three distinct brands — First, REVĪVŌ and The Pavilions

Junior Suite at The First Cortina, by The Pavilions (rendering).

The portfolio includes Casa Almagro, Madrid by The Pavilions, The First Rome by The Pavilions, The Pavilions Phuket, and The Pavilions Bali, demonstrating the group’s ability to create highly individual hotels across different development models and destinations.

Rooted in the fully integrated offering of REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort in Bali, The First Cortina represents a significant step forward in extending the group’s specialist wellness and longevity brand across its wider portfolio.

The hotel’s 1,000 sqm REVĪVŌ Spa and Wellness facilities translate the brand’s signature fusion of time-honoured healing traditions and modern, evidence-led wellness into an authentically alpine setting, combining exceptional luxury facilities and state-of-the-art equipment with selected wellness and recovery elements from its transformative six-pillar offering. It follows the successful introduction of REVĪVŌ Spa at Château de Fiac, thoughtfully adapted to its intimate château setting.

The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts founder Gordon Oldham commented, “We have always believed that the most compelling hotels have a strong sense of individuality and belonging to their surroundings. The First Cortina brings that philosophy to one of the world’s great alpine destinations, creating a contemporary social address shaped by design, dining and wellness.”

An international boutique hospitality group focused on growing through ownership, management and franchise partnerships, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts continues to explore suitable development opportunities across Europe and Asia.

“Our growth strategy is focused on building breadth and depth, as well as scale. The Pavilions, The First, and REVĪVŌ provide three distinct platforms from which to pursue opportunities across different destinations and segments, while allowing us to remain selective about the properties and partnerships we take on,” said Pavilions Hotels & Resorts Chief Executive Officer Florence Wong.

The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts portfolio comprises 13 hotels and resorts across Asia and Europe. The Pavilions Phuket; The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions; and REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort, Bali were each awarded One Key in the MICHELIN Guide for Hotels 2025.

The Toren, Amsterdam by The Pavilions also secured its fourth consecutive ‘Best of the Best’ recognition in last year’s Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice awards. At the same time, The Pavilions Bali and The First Arte, Rome by The Pavilions were rated among the top 10 per cent of Tripadvisor listings worldwide.

Bookings for The First Cortina by The Pavilions are now open for stays from 4 December 2026. The Cortina Premiere opening offer starts from EUR 663 (UKP568) per night for two adults sharing, including exclusive privileges such as 15% off accommodation, daily breakfast, and afternoon tea at Velo.

Valid for bookings made by 31 October 2026 for a minimum three-night stay between 4 and 20 December 2026 and 7 January to 3 April 2027, subject to availability.

ClubMed Lifestyle Group operates premium all-inclusive resorts under the Club Med brand. It also expands its vacation offerings, including Integrated Vacation Destinations and Cultural-Tourism Complexes, through an asset-light model as it continues to build diversified vacation lifestyles.

Based on 2025 turnover, Club Med, the core brand of ClubMed Lifestyle Group, is the world’s largest all-inclusive resort brand. It currently operates 69 resorts across more than 40 countries and regions on six continents, serving over 1.5 million guests annually. The Group expects to operate approximately 85 resorts worldwide by 2030.

Since late 2025, ClubMed Lifestyle Group has signed new resort projects in China, Canada, Morocco, Brazil, the US Virgin Islands, Indonesia and Italy. It is also accelerating expansion across the Alps, the Mediterranean and North African coasts, Northeast and Southeast Asia, the Americas and the Caribbean, and exploring the Middle East.

In July, Club Med, the core brand of ClubMed Lifestyle Group, signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Microsoft at its Paris headquarters. Microsoft France CEO Corinne De Bilbao and ClubMed Lifestyle Group Co-President Xu Bingbin attended the signing ceremony. The partnership focuses on AI-powered guest experiences, cloud-native transformation, and operational modernisation.

The WTTC membership, a mark of global industry recognition, and the Microsoft partnership, which enhances operational intelligence, mutually reinforce each other, providing solid support for ClubMed Lifestyle Group’s path from 69 resorts to its 2030 target of 85 resorts.
