DELHI, 1 April 2026: Air India Express unveiled ‘The Flying Canvas’, a special art‑wrapped Boeing 737‑8 aeroplane (VT‑BWV), extending the airline’s long‑standing tradition of celebrating India’s cultural heritage through evocative aeroplane liveries.

At the heart of this latest creative milestone is internationally recognised contemporary artist Osheen Siva, known for her distinctive practice that blends heritage, identity and speculative futures.

The collaboration is a result of Air India Express’ multi-year partnership with the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India’s first and largest international exhibition of contemporary art.

Wrapped in an original artwork created by Osheen Siva, whose work reimagines heritage as a living, evolving force, ‘The Flying Canvas’ transforms into the fastest-moving cultural installation.

The art livery features a Tamil figure carrying memory and heritage into the future, adorned with traditional motifs that symbolise lineage, identity and continuity. As India’s first full‑aircraft contemporary art wrap, this initiative brings a bold new dimension to Air India Express’ long‑standing commitment to celebrating India’s culture across the skies.

Air India Express Chief Marketing Officer Siddhartha Butalia commented on the concept and campaign: Art is one of the most powerful universal languages – it transcends borders, cultures, and geographies to connect people in ways few things can. With the Tales of India and its extension to The Flying Canvas project, we are literally taking that idea to the skies, transforming an aircraft into a moving expression of living cultural identity. This initiative reflects how we see travel – not just as a journey between destinations, but as an opportunity to experience, interpret, and connect with culture and communities in meaningful ways. As one of the most culturally engaged airlines globally, we are proud and delighted to create spaces where art, travel, and human connection come together.”

During the previous edition of the Biennale, Air India Express unveiled a bespoke tail art on one of its Boeing aircraft. This association laid the foundation for deeper engagement with India’s contemporary art ecosystem and continues with a fully aircraft-wrapped in art for the 2025–26 edition.

MUMBAI, 25 March 2026: Thomas Cook (India) Limited’s board of directors has given its “in-principle approval” to a proposal for the demerger of the company’s Resorts and Resort Management business into Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL) and a subsequent capital restructuring of TCIL.

The proposed demerger and restructuring are subject to NCLT and other regulatory approvals.

The demerger and restructuring are being undertaken to unlock value for TCIL shareholders by demerging the Resorts and Resort Management businesses into SHRL and to attract investors to each business segment.

In a company statement, the board said it would also streamline TCIL’s existing capital structure, which would “result in improved earnings per share and enable sharper strategic and operational focus across each business vertical”.

TCIL owns or operates six resorts under the Nature Trails brand name. These resorts are spread across India in several scenic locations and offer a host of curated services across multiple attractive market segments, including adventure holidays, educational trips and corporate getaways. TCIL will demerge this business into SHRL as part of the demerger.

Thomas Cook India Limited Managing Director & CEO Mahesh Iyer commented: “I am delighted to announce this demerger of Thomas Cook’s Resorts and Resort Management business into Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited. This demerger and restructuring unlock tremendous value and potential for TCIL shareholders by streamlining the existing capital structure and improving Earnings Per Share.
NEW DELHI, 18 March 2026: IndiGo, an Indian low-cost airline, has introduced a fuel surcharge on domestic and international routes since 14 March 2026, following a surge in fuel prices amid military strikes in the Gulf.

The airline quotes IATA’s Jet Fuel Monitor, which identified an 85+% increase in fuel prices for the region. Aviation Turbine Fuel represents a significant share of airlines’ operating costs.

“This sudden and steep increase will have a material impact on all airlines’ costs and networks, including IndiGo’s,” the airline noted.

While offsetting the entire impact of the fuel price surge requires a substantial adjustment to fares, IndiGo said it has introduced a relatively small fuel surcharge, mindful that the burden falls on customers.

Overall prices for all new bookings on IndiGo flights have included the following additional surcharges per sector since 14 March.

In view of the evolving situation in the Middle East, IndiGo will be operating 252 weekly flights to and from the Middle East, as it cautiously makes adjustments to its operations in the region from 16 March 2026 until 28 March 2026.

IndiGo is almost back to its regular schedule, with 126 weekly flights to/from Saudi Arabia and 28 weekly flights to/from Oman. Additionally, IndiGo will operate 98 weekly flights to and from the UAE.

Once its fleet of 400+ aircraft is fully operational again, the airline will fly around 2,200 daily flights, connecting 95 domestic and 40 international destinations.

Update: Flights to and from Dubai

Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, flight operations in Dubai have been further restricted, leading to changes to flight schedules that will affect services through 18 March.
