Just checked with Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism today. According them, Air Asia has not even made an application to fly to Fukuoka or even Japan. They are selling tickets on their website.
We bought tickets. Was told our VISA card did not authorize and to try again. This happened three times and all three times was told the card could not be authorized. When I phoned VISA that evening I was told the card had in fact been authorized three times.
After doing searches I found that this seems to be common practice on their site. In the Q&A on the site it even recommends to keep trying if you cannot make the reservation.
