Dreaming of cruises to nowhere

-

SINGAPORE, 28 October 2020: Mega-ship World Dream, operated by Dream Cruises, arrived in Singapore Sunday with 187 crew members aboard, who had completed their 14-day quarantine on the cruise ship before arrival in Singapore.

The ship is readying to start a series of cruises to nowhere for Singaporean residents who have been unable to enjoy travel beyond the city-state since last March. The short  ‘staycation’ cruises will not make any port of calls.

Ahead of the cruise series, the crew will now undergo further mandatory Covid-19 tests as stipulated by the local authorities. They are all required to test negative before signing-up for active duty.

Prior to arriving in Singapore, World Dream was docked in Rotterdam, the Netherlands after being taken out of service in early February.

The cruise ship will now undergo a robust cleaning and sanitization process before her inaugural “Super Seacation” sailings that are due to start 6 November. World Dream will be the newest built cruise ship to call Singapore home and will be the first cruise ship to restart service in the Lion City albeit sailings to nowhere.
