THAI shifts flights to August launch date

-

BANGKOK, 8 June 2020: Hemmed in by bankruptcy court hearings on its restructuring plan, Thai Airways International is delaying the resumption of 30 services in Asia until August at the earliest.

Earlier the airline had indicated it would probably introduce flights to Asia in July once the ban in international airlines services landing and taking off ends 1 July.

But the restructuring of the airline financially is now underway in the bankruptcy court which is delaying the resumption of services. However, sources at the airline said Covid-19 measures and the ban on foreign travellers entering Thailand was another factor in making the decision to delay the launch until August.

Only foreigners with work permits are currently allowed to enter Thailand, and they must also quarantine on arrival for 14 days. Most of the passenger traffic available to TG flights are linked to Thai workers repatriating home on special flights supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Details of the rescheduled services were posted on Airlineroute a timetable information service, but the information could change at any time as the airline continues to update its advance schedule information.
