Avis Budget rolls out safety

-

SINGAPORE, 8 June 2020: Avis Singapore is implementing a new ‘Avis Safety Pledge’ while Budget Singapore is initiating its “Budget Worry-Free Promise” to reassure customers of the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.

The pledge is a global promise, demonstrating the company’s commitment to delivering a safe and convenient alternative to other modes of transport to protect all staff and customers.

The pledge protocols will be implemented in all Avis Singapore and Budget Singapore’s rental stations, demonstrating its commitment to providing a safe, clean, and convenient transport solution as Circuit Breaker measures ease.

In Singapore, car rental provides a safe alternative to other modes of transport and the Avis and Budget teams are working tirelessly to provide a safe environment for both our employees and for customers to collect and drop-off rental vehicles.

As part of the pledge, Avis and Budget have enhanced their cleaning protocols, including using a disinfectant that protects customers and employees against pathogens. All vehicles are cleaned before every rental, paying special attention to high touch point surfaces such as the steering wheel, indicators, dashboard, hand grips, in-car entertainment controls, cup holders, centre consoles, and all door handles, both inside and out.  Avis and Budget are also following social distancing measures at rental stations; employees are supplied gloves and masks when facing customers, and counter shields across most of the network are being installed.

For Avis and Budget customers in Singapore, the safety pledge allows them to pick up and drop off vehicles with minimal contact during both delivery and collection of cars. Customers can choose to receive their rented, clean cars at preferred locations, and use the key drop system while returning their vehicles, with no physical interaction required. Avis customers signed up with the free to join loyalty scheme Avis Preferred can also benefit from having paperwork prepared ahead of time for swift collection of their vehicles.

In addition to the Avis Safety Pledge and the Budget Worry-Free Promise during these unprecedented times, Avis and Budget have also made all direct rental bookings more flexible.

Customers who booked directly with Avis and Budget are able to modify or cancel any reservation made for rentals starting before 1 September 2020 without any additional fee. Furthermore, if customers chose to cancel their reservation before the booking start date, Avis and Budget will arrange for a full refund. More information on the Covid-19 policies can be found on the Avis and Budget websites.
