Changi gains passenger traffic

SINGAPORE, 2 December 2019: Singapore Changi Airport handled 5.65 million passenger movements in October an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year.

Aircraft movements fell 2.4% to 32,000 landings and takeoffs, while airfreight throughput declined 10.6% to 170,000 tonnes for the month.

In October, passenger traffic growth was recorded for all regions.

Among Changi’s top 10 markets, Japan and Vietnam both gained 10%. The fastest-growing routes for the month included Brisbane, Shanghai and Taipei, all registering double-digit growth.

As at 1 November 2019, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to some 380 cities in about 100 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 7,400 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 80 seconds.

New Restaurants & Stores
In the airport’s transit areas, Hugo Boss commenced operations of its third airport outlet at T3. In T4, Calvin Klein Performance opened its first airport outlet. The new store offers products from Calvin Klein Underwear as well as a range of athletic and performance wear for men and women.
