THAI wins branding award

BANGKOK, 28 November 2019: Thai Airways International received a brand of the year award at the 6th World Branding Forum in London last week.

The airline’s general manager, Great Britain and Ireland, Nonthakorn Trakulpa, received the award from World Branding Forum chairman Richard Rowles.

THAI was one of 11 the airlines that received World Branding Award 2019-2020 under the national brand category. Other airlines included Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines Finnair and Qatar Airways.

The 10th World Branding Awards, presented at a gala dinner in the ‘State Apartment of Kensington Palace, honoured 318 brands from 41 countries based on their brand valuation, consumer market research, and public online voting of over 214,000 consumers worldwide. The winners were shortlisted from more than 4,500 nominees from 56 countries.

A registered non-profit organisation based in London organises the awards are categorised in three tiers. A Global Award is presented to international brands, a regional award is presented to brands that are top in several countries in a particular geographic region, and a national award is presented to brands from participating countries.

  1. Many Asian carriers win this type of award thru their full coloured advertisement in the magazines that organise awards. They may not even pay for the advertising but instead have barter agreements. Without support, they would no be given awards!
