KUCHING, 7 November 2019: Sarawak Tourism Board won more recognition for its efforts to grow tourism through the internationally renowned Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF).
STB’s CEO, Puan Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor, received the prestigious Malaysia Iconic Event Award 2019 at a recent ceremony hosted at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), in Kuala Lumpur.
Organised by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers (MACEOS), the award gives recognition to the best events in Malaysia organised to promote the economy and tourism.
“Proven to be more than just a music festival, the Rainforest World Music Festival provides the opportunity for everyone to listen to music from all over the world and learn about the different and unique instruments,” said Sharzede.
With sustainability as a key consideration during this year’s festival, green initiatives were incorporated, including the emphasis on biodegradable tableware and discouraging the use of bottled water.
