SHANGHAI, 1 October 2019: SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE Institute, has named John Reed as the chief operating officer, effective 8 October 2019.
SANGHA Retreat promotes ancient Chinese practices for wellness.
Reed has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked in the US Australia, Thailand, Myanmar, Bali and Bhutan.
He was also responsible for building the Aman brand and has accumulated an understanding of markets in South Asia and Indochina, especially Bhutan.
Reed will report to chairman and founder of OCTAVE Institute, Frederick Chavalit Tsao. Located west of Shanghai on the outskirts of Suzhou in, China, Sangha Retreat combines eastern philosophies backed by western science to help people achieve personal wellbeing. It was created by Fred Tsao, the fourth-generation steward of a family business that started in the Shanghai Bund in 1906.
