Lucy let loose at ITB Asia

-

SINGAPORE, 22 October 2019: Global travel agency group, Lufthansa City Center (LCC), and Atriis Technologies Ltd, have introduced a pilot project during ITB Asia that delivers Singapore Airlines’ travel content through the New Distribution Capability (NDC) aggregator known as “Lucy”.

After its first venture into NDC last year, SIA continues to strengthen its commitment to the NDC game with this new partnership.

The NDC is a travel industry-supported programme launched by International Air Transport Association (IATA), aimed to address the end-to-end airline distribution process for enhanced customer experiences.

LUCY is an NDC platform developed by Atriis Technologies Ltd and launched by Lufthansa City Centre in 2018 to create new distribution opportunities.

The multi-provider platform integrates and consolidates data of traditional GDS providers such as Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport through cutting-edge technology, making it a booking novelty for travel agencies that is set to disrupt the Southeast Asia travel market.

Lufthansa City Center’s Singapore-based agency, Citystate Ardent Travel, runs the pilot operation.

It is also the first Southeast Asian agency to implement the Lucy NDC system.

The Singapore Airlines NDC aggregator presented its services at the ITB Asia trade show last week.  Four LCC Global Incoming Network (LCC GIN) partners were also at the fair representing their destinations: LCC Elite Travel (Albania), LCC VS Global (Belarus), LCC Planetto (Israel) and the LCC GIN Supplier Into Scotland (Scotland).

Israel-based NDC provider Atriis Technologies Ltd powers the Lucy frontend solution, which can be tailored to each market’s language, payment and fulfilment requirements.

Also available as a mobile and as a corporate booking engine, Lucy offers direct access to the content of dozens of travel providers, inclusive of hotel brands, mobility providers and global airlines. Its global marketplace functionality also allows agencies to purchase travel components from each other.

Since its launch last year, 40 Lufthansa City Center agencies have already hopped on board the Lucy platform.

Lufthansa City Center (LCC) is the world’s largest independent franchise system in the travel agency market-based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Currently, LCC has over 570 offices in about 90 countries with a total turnover of around 5.3 billion euros, and home to 5,300 employees worldwide. In the Asia-Pacific region, LCC has 30 offices in 18 countries. The Group’s newest additions in Singapore are LCC Fortune Travel (joined January 2019) and LCC LGE Travel (joined January 2019). LCC is an active player in both leisure and business travel, with the latter’s division operating under the label LCC Business Travel.
