MANDALAY, 5 September 2019: Bookings are now open on the Accor website for the brand new Pullman Mandalay Minglar, starting at USD150 a night.
The 358-room hotel located in the centre of Mandalay city opened bookings directly on the Accor site last week, effective 1 October, but for popular booking sites such as Agoda rates are not available until the end of October.
The five-star property has completed the hiring of staff, many of them moving from other hotels in the city attracted by the opportunity to work for an international chain and enjoy better working conditions.
Apart from the 358 rooms and suites, the property will open with restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool and bar and Pullman’s signature fitness centre and spa. A 650 sqm ballroom with supporting meeting rooms completes facilities that will be fully operational by the end of the month.
Located close to the city’s commercial district and main tourists attractions, the hotel represents a major improvement in the city’s five-star options.
Mandalay’s international airport is served by direct international flights from Singapore, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Commenting on the opening, a hotel executive told TTR Weekly is the city first international upscale hotel to open in Mandalay in 20 years.
The property’s design was inspired by the Mandalay Palace and Kuthodaw Pagoda.
Located just a short 10-minute drive from the Mandalay Convention Centre, the hotel is expected to attract business travellers.
Accor also manages the Mercure Mandalay.
