Malaysia to start a new trade show

-

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 September 2019: A new travel show will emerge in Malaysia during the 2020 Visit Malaysia Year campaign.

The show will target international tour companies, hosting around 200 international buyers from 45 countries.

Unlike the popular MATTA fairs that are scheduled in February and September, the new show will piggyback on the Visit Malaysia Year campaign and focus on B2B networking to draw more tourists to Malaysia.

The Malaysia Tourism and Travel Mart (MTTM) is scheduled for 25 to 27 June 2020 in Kuala Lumpur. It expects to draw around 1,000 trade visitors with a mix of 200 tour operators (travel buyers) and 300 exhibitors (travel content suppliers)

Hosted at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, the show will open to travel consumers possibly as many as 8,000 following the first trade-only day.

Already, organisers are estimating the economic value of the new show claiming in local press reports the show will contribute MYR25.1 million to the country’s tourism earnings.
