MANCHESTER, UK, 17 September 2019: Las Vegas has been chosen as the host destination for the 27th World Routes Development Forum in 2021.

The world’s largest commercial aviation event is scheduled to take place from 13 to 15 September 2021.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport won the bid. It previously hosted World Routes in 2013 and Routes Americas in 2017.

Las Vegas McCarran International Airport has been experiencing continuous growth for several years, setting and breaking passenger records month after month, year after year.

In 2018, the airport welcomed an all-time high 49.7 million passengers, with international passenger traffic steadily on the rise, and up nearly 70% since 2009.

Las Vegas attracts around 42 million visitors annually. Famous for glitzy casinos and instant marriage services, the city is also renowned as a conference venue, boasting more than 11.5 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space.

Last year, a record 6.6.million people visited Las Vegas for a meeting, conference, exhibition or trade show.

Routes Brand director, Steven Small, highlighted the features that made Las Vegas such an attractive bid for World Routes 2021.

“There are few cities globally that can match Las Vegas in visitor infrastructure. Playing host is the raison d’etre of Las Vegas, and we are excited to hear its plans for future development”.

World Routes brings together 3,000 top-ranking delegates from over 130 countries in the world’s largest aviation event to discuss and shape the future of the aviation and tourism industry.

Routes Asia 2020 will take place 8 to 10 March in Chiang Mai, Thailand, hosted by the Airports of Thailand.
