Far East expands hotels in Asia

-

SINGAPORE, 6 September 2019: Far East Hospitality confirmed expansion in Asia with new properties in Japan, Vietnam and ongoing developments on Sentosa, Singapore.

The company’s first ‘Village” property outside of Singapore has been confirmed in Tokyo, Japan.

Two hotels will join the group under management agreements in Vietnam, while the group expands with three new hotels under development on Sentosa Island, Singapore.

Set to open during the second quarter of 2020, Village Hotel Ariake Tokyo will be the first hotel under the Village brand to expand its presence outside of Singapore.

Owned under a 50-50 joint venture between Far East Hospitality and Far East Organisation, the 306-room hotel is in the Ariake district, Koto City, east Tokyo.

“Japan’s hotel industry is seeing a steady growth in demand, specifically from the mid-tier market in neighbouring countries,” said Far East Hospitality chief executive officer Arthur Kiong.

Ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we see this regional expansion as an opportunity to raise brand exposure in this major international gateway city.”

The company also announced new hotels in Vietnam.

Far East Hospitality has signed a hotel management agreement with Five Elements Development to manage two boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, due to open during the first half of 2020. Under the agreement, the hotels will be renamed Hotel Reve and Suzu Hotel.

The 56-room Hotel Reve, is located on the city’s art and the antique street known as Le Cong Kieu.

The 30-room Suzu Hotel is located in Ho Chi Minh’s Japanese district and named after the Japanese Suzu bell that is traditionally believed to attract good fortune.

In Singapore, the company launched last April the Village Hotel Sentosa, while The Outpost Hotel Sentosa is due to open during the fourth quarter of this year.

The third hotel in the Sentosa precinct, the 40-room Barracks Hotel Sentosa, is also slated to open by the end of this year.

Looking ahead, the company will introduce a new brand, with the opening of the 324-room Clan Hotel, in the second quarter of 2020.

Far East Hospitality Holdings has a portfolio of nine brands of hotels, serviced residences and apartment hotels, including Far East Collection, Adina Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Travelodge Hotels and TFE Hotels Collection.

It operates 15,500 rooms under its management across 95 hotels and serviced residences in seven countries – Australia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.
