Extra snow season flights

BANGKOK, 10 September 2019: Thai AirAsia X will increase services on the Bangkok Don Mueang – Sapporo New Chitose route to 11 flights weekly effective 1 December.

Currently, Thai AirAsia X flies daily services between the Thai capital and Sapporo.  The route is popular with Thai tourists who fly to Sapporo for the snow season.

Once the winter season ends next March, the airline will reduce services to 10 flights a week.

The current daily services using Airbus A330s depart Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport at 0210 and arrive in Sapporo at 1040. The return flights depart Sapporo at 1155 and arrive in Bangkok at 1800.

The four new services for the winter season will depart Bangkok at 0835 and arrive in Sapporo at 1705 and will depart Sapporo at 1820 and arrive in Bangkok at 0015 on the following morning.

The additional flights depart Bangkok on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Sapporo is the capital city of the mountainous northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, famed for its beer, skiing and the annual Sapporo Snow Festival featuring enormous ice sculptures. The Sapporo Beer Museum traces the city’s brewing history and has tastings and a beer garden. Ski hills and jumps from the 1972 Winter Olympics are scattered within the city limits, and Niseko, a renowned ski resort, is located close to the city.  (Wikipedia)
