Diethelm hires new GM in Thailand

BANGKOK, 5 September 2019: Diethelm Travel Group, an inbound tour operator headquartered in Bangkok, has named Christian Stoeckli general manager for Diethelm Travel Thailand.

Stoeckli joins the company after a stint as a chief contracting officer and acting CEO for Meeting Point Asia Ltd.

He replaces Janejira Vewatanawarangkun, who is still listed on the group’s website as the Thailand general manager. She held the post since 2017.

Commenting on the change Diethelm Travel Group CEO Stephen Roamer said: “Khun Eve (Janejira) joined Diethelm Travel from the merger with AAE (All Asia Exclusive) and did the integration of the two companies which is completed.

“Chris Stoeckli is replacing Janejira in the capacity of general manager Thailand, while Janejira having completed her task and is leaving Diethelm Travel for good.”

Originally from Switzerland, Stoeckli has spent more than 35 years specialising in product management and contracting for Southeast Asian destinations, while working for Kuoni Reisen AG, FTI Touristik and TUI Switzerland.

In his new role, Stoeckli will be responsible for guiding Diethelm Travel Thailand office and extending its line of customisable services and offerings.

“With his extensive background in the Asia tourism industry and strong Thai supplier connections, in particular, Christian brings not only a wealth of experience but also an exceptional perspective to Thailand’s ever-evolving tourism landscape,” said Roemer. “I look forward to having Christian join our motivated Thailand team and have no doubt that he will be an incredible asset – not simply meeting our core values and performance goals, but exceeding them.”

Diethelm Travel Group also maintains travel operations in 12 other countries across Asia: Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
