QF expands business lounge at Changi

-

SINGAPORE, 14 August 2019: One year after re-establishing its Singapore hub, Qantas unveiled a newly expanded business lounge, 9 August.

The expanded business lounge can now accommodate more than 570 customers as the airline expands its service to Asia and beyond through the Singapore hub.

Following on from the expansion of the business lounge the airline will open a new first lounge in Singapore this November.  It will join Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles as Qantas ports with a dedicated first lounge.

Both Singapore lounges combined will have seating for more than 800 customers.

Qantas International acting CEO, Naren Kumar, said the lounge investment was part of the Australian national carrier’s commitment to improving the experience for customers travelling through Asia.

“Singapore remains Qantas’ largest hub outside of Australia. About 50% of the Qantas Group’s international capacity is now dedicated to Asia, up from around 30% eight years ago,” said Kumar.

“The return of our Singapore hub has seen strong demand for travel in premium cabins. Representing an overall capacity increase of 60%, our multi-million-dollar investment in an expanded business lounge and new first lounge will ensure a comfortable experience for our customers travelling through the region.”

Qantas operates more than 50 return services through Singapore each week, making it one of the largest foreign airlines to operate out of Changi Airport, with codeshare connections to 16 cities in eight countries on more than 210 Jetstar Asia services.
