YANGON, 13 August 2019: The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has launched its new website, www.tourisminmyanmar.com.mm this week.

The new site features videos, news, photographs and interviews about Myanmar’s culture, traditions and tourist destinations.

The aim of the new website is to promote Myanmar as an emerging tourist destination in Southeast Asia while serving as a ‘first-stop’ when researching trips and acting as a useful resource to gather fresh information on the destination.

Myanmar Tourism Marketing and the  Ministry of Hotels and Tourism are jointly planning to host a media familiarisation trip in mid-September as a spin-off promotion for the website.

The trip will showcase the best of Myanmar’s natural and cultural attractions woven into an eight-day itinerary featuring four major destinations: Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake.

Journalists, writers, bloggers interested in joining the trip should contact to Myanmar Tourism Marketing [email protected] or [email protected] for more details information.

“This media fam trip will create awareness and participants will be able to witness the newly UNESCO site of the ancient capital of Bagan during the trip,” said Myanmar Tourism Marketing chairperson May Myat Mon Win.

Myanmar Tourism Marketing (MTM) is part of the Myanmar Tourism Federation and is mainly privately funded by key members of the tourism industry in Myanmar.
