Accor takes over Windsor

-

BANGKOK, 2 July 2019: Accor has signed an agreement to manage the 456-room Windsor Suites Hotel.

One of the oldest properties on the famous Sukhumvit Road tourist strip, the hotel will be rebranded Grand Mercure Windsor in 2021.

Located along Sukhumvit’s Soi 20, the 34-storey hotel comes with dining outlets, a fitness centre, wellness spa, executive lounge and helipad on its rooftop.

“Grand Mercure Hotels & Resort is a cultural touchstone in each destination, capturing guests’ imagination and bringing local stories to life. We’re really excited to have the Windsor Suites Hotel join the Accor network giving visitors to Bangkok an added choice of hotel to choose from in the Sukhumvit area” said, Accor chief operating officer for upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives, Patrick Basset.

The hotel will undergo an extensive refurbishment of the lobby, dining outlets and rooms at the end of this year to be completed in phases over the next two years.

The property opened around 50 years ago as simply the Windsor Hotel and later expanded to become Windsor Suites following renovations.

Accor is the leading hotel operator in Thailand with 83 hotels and with a pipeline of 13 hotels scheduled to open over the next five years. The group currently manages a portfolio of 44 Grand Mercure hotels across the Asia Pacific region.
