Vietnam Airlines adds Busan service

-

HANOI, 6 June 2019: Vietnam Airline confirmed this week it will launch a new service linking Danang in central Vietnam and Busan in South Korea, effective 20 July.

The twice-weekly service will use an A320 with a flight time of around four hours and 10 minutes and four hours and 50 minutes on the return leg.

Flights will depart Danang on Tuesday and Saturday at 0020, while the return flight will depart Busan at 0730 and arrive back in Danang at 1020.

Vietnam Airline already serves Busan from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but the new direct route from Danang is welcome news for the region’s resorts and golf courses. South Koreans are fanatical golfers and the second largest city in South Korea already supplies Danang’s golf courses with players looking for top courses at low prices.

Overall, Korea is also the second largest market supplying tourists to Vietnam after China.  It’s a vital market for Danang bringing in high-spend leisure travellers.

Vietnan Airlines will promote the service to Vietnamese residents and foreigners living in Danang who enjoy shopping malls and an urban buzz. For residents of Busan, Danang represents affordable beach stays in top resorts and superb golf courses.

The competition will be tough on the route with Vietnam pitching its lowest fare at USD334 roundtrip to prise business away from Asiana (USD356) and KAL (USD453). All three airlines offer direct flights between Danang and Busan.
