ADELAIDE, 10 June 2019: Singapore Airlines have been confirmed as the official carrier for the 25th World Route Development Forum which will take place in Adelaide, Australia, 21 to 24 September.

The Singapore flag carrier and winner of the ‘World’s Best Cabin Crew Service’ award for 23 consecutive years, and ‘World’s Best Airline’ Skytrax Airline Awards 2018, Singapore Airlines will be the airline of choice for delegates attending the 25th-anniversary edition of World Routes.

Boasting one of the youngest fleets in the world and a global network that reaches over 135 destinations across 37 countries and territories throughout Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America, delegates will have no trouble finding a route to Adelaide.

Singapore Airlines is the longest serving international airline in Adelaide having started operations in 1984.

Last year, Singapore Airlines launched an all-new medium-haul Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route, boosting capacity and introducing an all-new medium-haul Business and Economy Class cabin products.

Routes brand director, Steven Small said: “We are delighted to have Singapore Airlines as the official carrier for World Routes 2019, and we are very happy to be celebrating three important milestones together.

“Adelaide is the perfect place for us to celebrate the 25th edition of World Routes with the route development community and Singapore Airlines’ 35th anniversary of flying to Adelaide. This year is also the 100th anniversary of the first flight between the UK and Australia, so is the perfect time for the aviation industry to meet in Australia.”

“In an anniversary year, it is very pleasing that we can partner with World Routes, Adelaide Airport, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Tourism Australia to support a conference that will shine a light on the wonders of Adelaide and South Australia more broadly.”

The 25th edition of World Routes will see delegates travel from all over the world to meet in Adelaide for four days of face-to-face meetings, networking opportunities, and the Routes conference programme which will see airline CEOs give insights and forecasts.

The annual global route development forum will be hosted by the South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism Australia and Adelaide Airport at Adelaide Showground.

South Australia has seen a boom in visitors recently, with the region reporting record-breaking numbers last year, with Adelaide Airport taking the title of Australia’s fastest growing regional capital city airport.

Currently, AUD$1 billion is being spent to expand Adelaide Airport’s capacity. Passenger numbers have grown steadily in the last decade to over 7.7 million and aircraft movements are expected to grow by 3% over the next 20 years. New routes have been added to Adelaide’s international network in recent years including services to Doha and 2018’s World Routes host city – Guangzhou.

World Routes will take place in Adelaide, Australia, 21 to 24 September 2019.
