PARIS, 20 June 2019: Qatar Airways has been named World’s Best Airline, according to Skytrax that hosted the awards ceremony at the Paris Air Show earlier this week.
The Middle East airline also scooped up the World’s Best Business Class, the World’s Best Business Class Seat and the Best Airline in the Middle East awards for good measure.
Airline leaders and top airline management worldwide witnessed the 2019 World Airline Awards presentation at a gala reception during the Paris Air Show.
Singapore Airlines, which came in a close second this year won a share of the top accolades such as World’s Best Cabin Crew, World’s Best First Class, Best Airline in Asia and the World’s Best First Class Seat.
Skytrax’s Edward Plaisted: “To be named as the World’s Best Airline is a great recognition of Qatar Airways high standards, and recognises the hard work and dedication from every member of staff to satisfy customers. To achieve this accolade for the fifth time is a remarkable achievement, and we congratulate them for this unique success.

Qatar Airways is celebrating its fifth time grabbing the prestigious accolade — having previously won in 2017, 2015, 2012 and 2011.
In the world of budget air travel, AirAsia won World’s Best Low-Cost Airline and Japan Airlines won World’s Best Economy Class and Economy Class Seat.
The Skytrax awards are seen as among the most prestigious in the business as the airlines are voted for by consumers.
