SINGAPORE, 19 June 2019: Predictably Bali tops the TripAdvisor’s listing not for its beaches but for its Jungle Swing tour in the hill village of Ubud.
TripAdvisor announced the winners of its Travellers’ Choice® awards for Experiences by various regions and even listed national winners on Tuesday.
On the Asian top 10 list the tour of Ubud that highlights, a jungle swing experience came out top followed by an evening food tour by ‘tuk tuk’ in China’s Xi’an.
The Chinese capital Beijing was home to the third highest placed experience; Beijing’s Hutong Food and Beer Tour again by ‘tuk tuk’.
Another food experience, this time a cooking class showcasing a mix of Thai and hill tribe Akha food in Thailand’s northern Chiang Mai province, took the fourth slot.
Four of the top 10 travel experiences in Asia involved food including cooking classes and extending to lesser-known dishes by ethnic minorities.
Other notable experiences in the top 10 featured cycling while the 10th most popular tour followed a path to the Dharavi slum in Mumbai, India.

Winners were determined using an algorithm based on reviews and ratings for bookable experiences over a 12-month period.
The awards recognise 375 experiences, tours, and activities globally, highlighting the world’s best “Things to do”.
The winning experiences are broken down by country, and by category, including day cruises, cultural tours, day trips, multi-day tours, hop-on-hop-off tours, and food, beer, and wine experiences.
