Garuda reopens London bookings

-

JAKARTA, 25 June 2019: Garuda Indonesia confirmed Friday that it has reopened reservations for Jakarta – London Heathrow –Denpasar triangle service, after closing them last month.

Reporting on the change, Airlineroute said the airline had previously stated it was closing reservations for all classes of services for travel after October as it was suspending the London service effective 27 October.

However, that appears to have changed according to Airlineroute’s latest information.

The latest update indicates the service will not be cancelled during the winter schedule that starts 27 October this year and runs through to 31 March 2020.

Flight details outlined by Airlineroute show GA086 departs CGK at 1120 and arrives in LNR at 2000 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The return flight GA087 departs LNR at 2145 and arrives in Denpasar, Bali, at 2015 on the following evening.

Earlier, Garuda, the national airline of Indonesia, informed the trade that direct flights between the UK and Indonesia, which included the triangular route London – Bali – Jakarta – London would end in October.

The airline also said it was reducing frequency on its other European route, from Jakarta to Amsterdam (AMS), from six to three flights weekly, despite its links with SkyTeam partner KLM and the historical connections between the Netherlands and Indonesia.

However, as aviation observers noted, there was always room for Garuda to rethink that decision and apparently now that has happened as reservations reopen beyond October.
