All aboard for lunch

-

BANGKOK, 19 June 2019: Diethelm Travel Thailand, one of the oldest tour operator based in Thailand, is selling a special lunch and one-off train ride on the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury train 3 November.

Travellers visit Kanchanaburi on 2 November and tour the town and surrounding areas close to the River Kwai. Then on 3 November, they join the luxury train for lunch and the transfer back to Bangkok.

Diethelm Travel Thailand guests will board the famous Eastern & Oriental Express train in Kanchanaburi, Thailand to enjoy a four-course lunch and unlimited house wine, beer and spirits, while the train rolls through the countryside to Bangkok, its final destination.

Usually, travellers have to book a multi-day journey between Bangkok and Singapore or Kuala Lumpur on the train to enjoy the train’s meal service. This way they get to enjoy the luxury train for lunch and the afternoon train transfer.

The special lunch and train trip deal doesn’t come cheap at USD555 per person and there is a minimum two-person booking rule. That raises the cost of lunch and the train ride to USD1,110 for a couple. It does include the 2 November drive to Kanchanaburi, sightseeing and overnight hotel stay before the train experience begins in earnest on 3 November.

Travellers can also choose to join an extended three-day group programme or completely tailor their journey around Thailand’s central region for more memorable experiences.

“Riding Belmond’s Eastern & Oriental Express train is the epitome of a bucket-list experience,” said Diethelm Travel Thailand general manager Janejira Vewatanawarangkun.

“With this offering available through Diethelm Travel Thailand, discerning travellers, particularly from Asia, have a rare opportunity to experience the elegance and opulence of the Eastern & Oriental Express even without having set aside the time usually required to do the entire route between Singapore to Bangkok.”
