SINGAPORE 2 May 2019 – The Singapore Tourism Board announced earlier this week 92 finalists for the Experience Excellence, Enterprise Excellence and Customer Service Excellence categories of the 2019 Singapore Tourism Awards.
Due to take place 9 May, the Singapore Tourism Awards will see industry players come together to celebrate and recognise the best that Singapore’s hospitality sector has to offer.
Recipients of the Lifetime Achievement for Outstanding Contribution to Tourism, Breakthrough Contribution to Tourism and Special Recognition awards will also be honoured at the event, which will be graced by Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing.
The Experience Excellence award category will see the addition of two new awards in 2019 – the Best Shopping Mall Experience Award and the Best Retail Store Experience Award.
Nominations for Experience Excellence (Leisure) awards also saw more than a threefold increase in 2019, with close to 500 nominations from both members of the public and establishments, compared to around 150 the year before.
STB executive director communications and marketing capability, Oliver Chong said: “The Singapore Tourism Awards is a key part of STB’s efforts to elevate hospitality standards by recognising the efforts that industry players put into developing exceptional experiences for locals and visitors alike. We are heartened by the greater involvement of the public in nominating players for this year’s awards, as Singapore’s hospitality offerings are as much for locals as they are for visitors.”
New entrants for Singapore Tourism Awards 2019 include Andaz Singapore in the MICE category, while the leisure category saw newcomers like NINETEEN80, LUMINE SINGAPORE, Nomadx, Resorts World Sentosa’s Tree Top Loft and “Singapore 1920s: Trails of Tan Ah Huat” tour by homegrown tour operator Let’s Go Tour Singapore. All finalists were assessed by a panel of prominent and well-established judges through rounds of mystery audits and panel interviews.
