BANGKOK, 29 May 2019: China’s outbound tourism market is set to surpass the USD270 billion threshold by 2025, according to a Reportocean.com report released Tuesday.
Covering travel from China to 26 nations the report underscores China’s leadership in the global outbound travel market.
The forecast claims China’s outbound tourism will generate 160 million trips in 2020.
It will continue to be the largest single source of travel for Southeast Asia.
The report also claims that Chinese travellers spend more in the US than any other nation, a claim that flies in the face of the popular perception that Chinese are predominantly budget travellers.
In recent years, China has emerged as one of the fastest growing outbound event-related tourism markets, worldwide.
