TTR Weekly: Off for a holiday

-

BANGKOK, 12 April 2019: Thailand’s annual Songkran is underway with Friday declared a holiday to enable families to return home, ahead of the festival that starts in earnest 13 April and continues to 16 April.

This year, the holiday extends further to include Thursday, 18 April and Friday 19 April due to ceremonies linked to the upcoming coronation that will take place 4 to 6 May in the Thai capital.

TTR Weekly will take a holiday for five days, 15 to 19 April, possibly the longest break in our history. But we intend to enjoy an opportunity to explore new destinations while our editor remains immobilised in a blanket of smog in far north Chiang Rai fuming at his misfortune. TTR Weekly will resume its daily news reports on Monday 22 April.
