YANGON, 5 April 2019: Strand Cruise announced details this week of a new cruise option for its end-of-season sailings between Bagan and Yangon.

Scheduled for May, the itinerary offers passengers the choice of booking bite-sized sections of the voyage, or the entire trip that takes an entire week.

The entire trip offers access to less frequented temples on popular Ayeyarwady River sailings.

The Strand Cruise offers a seven-night itinerary cruising a section of the Ayeyarwady River downstream to Yangon departing Bagan 5 May.

Or passengers can book shorter sectors between Bagan and Magway, Bagan and Prome (Pyay), or Bagan and Yangon.

Departing Bagan 5 May, the two-night cruise to Magway that ends 7 May 2019 is priced from USD800 (GBP 607) per person.

The three-night option from Bagan to Prome arrives in the afternoon of 8 May and is priced from USD1,200 (GBP 911) per person.  The entire seven-night cruise from Bagan to Yangon arrives on the morning 12 May and is priced from USD2,500 (GBP 1,898) per person.

Rates are per person based on double occupancy and include all excursions and activities on board the classic riverboat with three meals during full sailing day and breakfast on disembarkation day.

This new itinerary is offered in addition to The Strand Cruise’s regular schedule of two, three and four-night sailings between Bagan and Mandalay, departing Mondays from Bagan on the four-night journey to Mandalay, and every Friday for the two and three-night journey from Mandalay to Bagan.

The Strand Cruise, operated by the company that owns The Strand Yangon hotel offers a contemporary river cruise experience, with design touches that evoke the character of the famous Yangon hotel.

The riverboat cabins come with individually controlled air conditioning and satellite WI-FI that extends throughout the ship.
