Travel advisory on Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, 26 March 2019: The Thai Consulate General in Frankfurt has issued a travel advisory warning Thai nationals who are visiting Frankfurt to be extra vigilant and avoid crowded places in the face of increased terrorist threats.

The travel advisory was issued for Thai nationals after the arrest of 10 terrorist suspects age between 20-42 years in Germany 22 March.

They were allegedly involved in a planned terrorist act using cars, firearms and knives that targeted the city. The terrorist leader was identified as a 21-year-old male from Offenbach a town close to Frankfurt and two companions from Wiesbaden who allegedly have links to the Salafis Muslim group.

The Thai Consulate General in Frankfurt has advised Thai citizens visiting or residing in Germany, especially those in Frankfurt and nearby areas, to exercise extra caution and to avoid crowded places and closely follow the news and relevant announcements from the German authorities.
