Routes Asia to return to Thailand

-

CEBU, Philippines, 13 March 2019: As Routes Asia 2019 drew to a close in Cebu, the organisers introduced the Airports of Thailand, which will officially host the 2020 event Chiang Mai, North Thailand.

Airports of Thailand manages six international airports in the country and previously hosted Routes Asia in 2006 in Pattaya.

Plans for a major capacity expansion at airports in Thailand are in place that could turn the country into a major aviation hub for Southeast Asia.

Chiang Mai, located 700 km north of Bangkok, welcomes annually around 10 million visitors predominantly Bangkok residents. The aviation event will be held at the city’s convention centre, the newest in Thailand and most recently the host for the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2018.
