15 minutes away by speedboat, the beaches on Koh Larn (also known as Coral Island) is a great day trip you can make from Pattaya. While there, do visit the Prince of Chumphon Shrine, which is a sacred place where Thais pay respect to him for his contribution to the modern-day Thai Royal Navy. There is also a museum exhibiting the admiral’s biography and items he used during his command of the navy. Open daily 0600 to 1800.

This iconic landmark has a golden Buddha image over 130 metres high laser carved into the face of a mountain cliff. This is the largest carved Buddha image in the world.

You can reach the hilltop either by car, local taxi (Songtaew), bicycle or walk (although not recommended!). There are a few restaurants that provide refreshments that are open until evening. Enjoy the sea view and chill!
