PATA Foundation back after a ‘hiatus’

-

MANILA, 26 March 2019: PATA’s Foundation Board of Trustees and the Philippine Department of Tourism are organising the PATA Foundation Charity Gala Dinner 2019 in conjunction with the PATA Annual Summit.

The charity event will take place Saturday 11 May in Cebu.

Described as the philanthropic sister organisation of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, the foundation supports grassroots tourism projects that impact on the lives of local communities and promote a sustainable tourism in the region.

After a so-called “self imposed hiatus to regain its strategic vision” the foundation says it is now “back” on the frontline ready to support new projects that could make an even greater, long-term impact on our fast-growing industry.”

The foundation uses the charity dinner event to secure prizes donated by PATA member companies and chapter members that are given away as door prizes.

Asking for support from Pata members worldwide the foundation claims it will tackle on of the biggest challenges facing travel industry – human capital development and the growing need for skilled human resources.

It is calling for door prize donations to support its charity dinner particularly through the association’s chapter network.
