Bamboo builds domestic network

-

HANOI, 22 March 2019: Vietnam’s newest start-up airline Bamboo Airways has added new routes from its Hanoi base to Can Tho, Dalat and Pleiku offering daily flights.

The airline rolled out its first flights last January and is focusing first on building a strong domestic network before adding international flights.

All the three new routes, introduced, earlier this month, are using A320s. The airline lists five of the aircraft in its fleet.

Ultimately it intends to introduce flights to neighbouring China and cities in South Korea to tap Vietnam’s popularity in those two countries.

Competition is tough on all three of the new route. On the route to Can Tho it will compete with Vietnam Airlines, which offers three weekly services and VietJet 18 flights weekly. Pleiku is already served by the same two airlines that offer daily flights.

A hill resort famed for its cooler climate and former colonial hill station buildings, VietJet Air, Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific Airlines all serve Dalat.
