SAMUI, 26 February 2019: Organisers of Samui’s open beach volleyball tournament confirmed the 2020 event will be hosted 21 to 23 February.
The dates were confirmed at the close of the third annual volleyball event hosted last week.
The annual volleyball tournament’s main sponsors are Hooters & Hard Rock Café plus other restaurants and hotels on the island.
The third Samui Open Volleyball Tournament attracted 32 teams of various nationalities.
The first place was awarded to Andrew Freeman and Dima Nizovcev of ‘Team Russia’. It was the first year to feature both men and women’s teams, with the Women’s Champion Team first place team victory win awarded to Yupa Phukrongploy of Thailand and Elena Ponomareva of Russia.
“The three-day event reflects the global interest of Beach Volleyball”, reported organiser and event director, Cord Biggs, a long-time island resident and an avid player who founded the group and daily open play at Beach Bar Samui.
