Sarawak hosts roads shows

KUCHING, 18 February 2019: Sarawak’s tourism promoters hit the road this month to reach out to travel agents and boost travel to the Malaysian state.

Sarawak Tourism Board is inviting travel agents to join network sessions at road shows in Singapore, Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Penang from 25 to 28 February.

The sessions in Singapore, 25 February 25 will be held at the Carlton Hotel from 1400 to 1700, while the Johor Bahru session will be held 26 February at the Amari Hotel from 0930 to 1300.

Travel agents in Kuala Lumpur have been invited to a networking session 27 February at the Pullman Hotel (downtown KL) from 0930 to 1300 with the Penang event hosted 28 February at the Wembley Hotel from 0930 to 1300.

Invitations have gone out to travel agents that have a strong track record for promoting travel to destinations in Southeast Asia.

The initiative is part of wider campaign to support direct flights to the state and encourage booking and encourage to tour companies to create new itineraries.

STB has identified Singapore as a priority for tourism promotions this year recognising it as a major gateway to connect tourists from Asia-Pacific travel markets to Sarawak.
