FWD takes over heritage hotel

HONG KONG, 1 February 2019: FWD Group has leased a historic hotel located in 1881 Heritage, the former Marine Police Headquarters in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The complex, previously known as Hullett House, has been transformed into a cultural and shopping destination and renamed ‘House 1881’.

House 1881 comprises of a boutique hotel and five dining outlet.

The entire complex will undergo a remake including restaurants and the hotel’s suites due to be completed by April followed by official opening celebrations in May to mark the historic site’s new direction.  

Built in 1884, the former Marine Police Headquarters occupies a prime location in Canton Road, and is one of 120 declared monuments of Hong Kong, that provides the highest level of heritage protection.
