Centara hosts TAT weddings event

HUA HIN, Thailand, 20 February 2019: The beautiful resort town of Hua Hin welcomed buyers, specialising in the weddings and honeymoon niche-market from 20 countries as part of TAT’s 4th Amazing Thailand Romance Trade Meet, held last week at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin.

With initiatives to promote Thailand as a destination where luxurious, romantic dreams come true, the Tourism Authority of Thailand staged Amazing Thailand Romance Trade Meet 2019, featuring some of the country’s most exclusive products for a rapidly growing market.

TAT deputy governor of International Marketing – Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas, Srisuda Wanapinyosak, welcomed over 70 participants from 20 countries to the historic hotel venue.

Hosted media attended the event and explored the sights and wedding facilities of the popular beach resort town.

Among the potential sites for hosting weddings venues was the former Royal Mrigadayavan Palace located in Cha-am resort around 10 km along the coast from Hua Hin town.

TAT’s Srisuda said: “The opening of the Mrigadayavan Palace for exclusive private parties for weddings and honeymoons will be a major drawcard for buyers seeking exclusive new services and products to present to their guests.”

The main business events were held at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin.

These included a briefing presentation on the Amazing Thailand Romance Market Insight by 10 keynote speakers to bring in outside perspective and share industry trends and tips to Thai sellers, and lastly, the Thailand product presentation for buyers.

Asked about wedding and events potential, Centara Grand Hua Hin general manager, David Martens commented: “Hua Hin is a spectacular seaside town… It serves as a good space for wedding ceremonies…Centara Grand Hua Hin, boasts a charming old-world feel as it was restored to its original elegance of 1923.”

Opening its doors to welcome guests in the early 1920s, Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin is now regarded as one of the grand hotels of Asia, with a wide expanse of gardens and a location in the town centre ideal for exploring and shopping.
