NokScoot heads for Shanghai

-

BANGKOK, 30 January 2019: NokScoot, the joint venture low-cost carrier of Thailand’s Nok Air and Singapore’s Scoot, will expand its China services with a new direct flight from Bangkok to Shanghai.

The inaugural flight is set for 25 February departing from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport.

Starting with four flights weekly, the airline has already confirmed services will increase to daily on 4 March.

A medium-haul, budget airline, NokScoot forecasts strong demand on the Shanghai route as it continues to grow its route network in China.

“Shanghai is China’s largest city and an iconic global destination for both business and leisure travellers,” said NokScoot CEO Chief Yodchai Sudhidhanakul. “This route continues our goal to fly to all or most of the major cities in China. Travellers want direct flights when travelling to and from Thailand and we are pleased to meet this growing demand.”

NokScoot currently flies to Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin and Xi’an in China. The new direct Shanghai flights will serve to boost bilateral tourism arrivals between China and Thailand, the CEO stated.

NokScoot will use Boeing 777-200 wide-bodied twin-aisle jets, configured with 415 seats, on the Bangkok to Shanghai route.

To promote the new Bangkok – Shanghai flights, NokScoot is offering promotional one-way economy FLY fares from Bangkok to Shanghai starting at THB3,100, including tax and fuel surcharge, for travel from 25 February to 26 October. The promotion can be purchased until 31 January.

NokScoot also operates flights to Taipei in Taiwan, Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and New Delhi in India. More flights to India, Japan, and South Korea are due to be launched later this year.
