Fast track China train tickets

-

BANGKOK, 23 January 2019: Travel agencies using Amadeus Selling Platform can now book and refund China High Speed Railway tickets in multiple languages according to an Amadeus blog written by its head of rail and ground travel, Antoine de Kerviler.

Amadeus claims to be the first technology platform distributing China Railway fare offers anywhere outside of Mainland China.

The country has quickly built what is now the longest high-speed rail network with 25,000 km of tracks.

Quoting data from Travel China Guide, the Amadeus report said that during 2018, passengers travelling by rail during Chinese New Year and National Day holidays reached 382 million, about 25 million more than the same period in 2017.

During peak holidays, high-speed trains play a pivotal role in transporting passengers to and from major cities and now thanks to the latest Amadeus agreement, travellers can buy their tickets before they departing for China.

Due to potential language barriers once in China buying their high-speed rail tickets in advance will give travellers a sense of confidence and reduce the stress associated with arranging ground travel.

De Kerviler said in his blog: “With rail becoming an increasingly important part of the travel network in China and the Asia-Pacific region, we are committed to helping travel agencies and sellers meet traveller’s needs, offering connected, multi-modal travel, and maximizing all sales opportunities across different channels. This is a huge leap forward and we are excited about bringing China Railway’s offer to travellers around the world.”
