ASAI brand opens in Myanmar 2020

-

BANGKOK, 7 January 2019: Myanmar’s Rich Mandalay Group has appointed Dusit International to manage its latest property in Yangon under the hotel group’s ASAI brand.

Now under construction in Yankin township, in the northern central part of Yangon, the three-star property is slated to open in 2020.

Established in 2008, the property’s owner, Rich Mandalay Group, is a leading hospitality and real estate developer, although its family business has its roots in the country’s weaving and garment trade dating back 50 years.

The group already owns and operates three independent hotels in Yangon and Mandalay, branded ‘Royal Golden Hotels’.

Currently under construction, the 111-room ASAI Yankin will be the first property to be managed by a foreign company,

Located approximately 8 km from Yangon International Airport, the hotel’s key landmark is the Myanmar Plaza, Yangon’s first international-standard retail shopping centre located next door.

Meanwhile, Dusit International confirmed four more ASAI properties were in the pipeline, including ASAI Hotels in Cebu, Philippines (in Lapu-Lapu, Oslob, and Cebu city centre). The mid-scale brand will make its debut in Thailand with a property in Bangkok’s downtown Sathorn road. Entirely owned by the group, a scheduled opening date has yet to be announced.

It also plans to add 10 more properties to the brand pipeline by the end of the year across Southeast Asia and Japan, a mix of owned, joint venture properties and hotels under management agreements.
