HANOI, 6 December 2018: Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2019 will take place in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa coastal province, under the theme ‘Colour of the Sea’.
The festival will run throughout next year with various activities hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant ministries and sectors, the authorities of Khanh Hoa province with 14 other participating cities and provinces across the country also highlighted in the year-long promotion.
In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, the year-long festival will include hundreds of events such as a sea tourism programme, a triathlon event, the 2019 Miss Vietnam beauty contest, and a conference on developing the central coastal areas.
In preparation for the festival, Khanh Hoa provincial authorities have speeded up work on infrastructure and traffic network improvements.
According to vice chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Tran Son Hai, the festival will incorporate the annual Nha Trang Sea Festival to promote sea tourism potential and the natural beauty and traditional culture of Nha Trang City to visitors.
By combining the two events, Khanh Hoa Province expects to welcome more than 7 million tourists, including 3 million foreign tourists in 2019.
