Myanmar welcomes Nihao

BANGKOK, 11 December 2018 NiHao Myanmar, a brand new Chinese language travel and lifestyle online magazine focusing on Myanmar, will launch 16 December, according to founder and editor-in-chief, Jaffee Yee.

Dignitaries and the Who’s Who of Myanmar’s travel industry will attend the cocktail and launch party at Inya Lake Hotel Yangon.

Guest-of-honour,  Myanmar’s Union Minister of Hotels and Tourism, U Ohn Maung, will attend the cocktail party at 1800, 16 December, following a media conference.

The online digital platform is designed to be a marketing tool for Myanmar to reach out to the Chinese market, specifically high-end affluent, upper to middle class FITs, or independent and corporate travellers from Mainland China.

NiHao Myanmar will curate promotions and marketing activities through various media platforms such as Weibo, Wechat,  Dianping and with leading online travel agencies, Fliggy, Alibaba and Ctrip.

“The readership of NiHao Myanmar can reach potential numbers of hundreds and thousands, possibly millions,” the well-known travel publisher stated in the launch announcement.

Elaborating on editorial policy, Yee said his latest publishing venture would promote the best of Myanmar, specifically, the country’s top attractions, arts and culture and all tourism-related businesses including hotels, dining, nightlife and entertainment, spas and activities, shopping, golf and cruises.

It will also cover the events business from China known in the trade as MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions).

Owned by Knowledge Media Group, which manages other successful publications including NiHao Thailand launched in 2013, the company publishes travel books on various ASEAN destinations some themed on aerial photography highlighting the region’s spectacular landscapes and heritage sites.

Yee, an award-winning veteran publisher with over 40 years of experience, leads the editorial team, which also includes Ernest Tan Yau Chong as editor and Richie Chan Li Qi as managing editor and art director.
