BANGKOK, 12 December 2018: Centara Hotels & Resorts was named winner at the 12th annual World Luxury Hotel Awards competition.

Centara Grand Island Resort and Spa Maldives won a continent award for leading “Luxury Family Beach Resort” in the Indian Ocean.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa Maldives won a similar award for the Indian Ocean’s leading “Luxury Adult Beach Resort.”

The Centara Grand Island Resort is known for its stunning location on South Ari Atoll, seemingly floating on a lagoon above a coral reef. Wooden walkways connect overwater villas to dining, fitness, spa and recreational facilities.

The resort’s innovative all-inclusive pricing makes for an ultimate once-in-a-lifetime holiday in paradise for couples and families.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort is also on its own island, just 20 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport in the Maldivian capital. The resort caters to adults and couples, with ample food, drink, spa, fitness and recreation offerings. Flexible pricing plans include all-inclusive and half-board programmes.

“These awards recognise our efforts to make these two resorts an exceptional, first-class experience for our guests,” said Centara’s Maldives properties’ area general manager, Prapaijit Thongma.

The Maldives is consistently ranked among the most beautiful tropical islands in the world. Clear  water, superb diving, endless horizons and unspoiled atolls make the island nation one of the world’s distinctive places.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards were established in 2006 to reflect the opinions of guests and travel industry professionals. Over 300,000 international travellers vote each year to select the winners.
