AirAsia boosts services from KK

KOTA KINABALU, 19 December 2018: AirAsia will add new domestic routes from Sabah state’s capital, Kota Kinabalu, to Bintulu and Sibu in neighbouring Sarawak, effective 1 January.

Airlineroute, that provides timetable information, said the services would replace MASwings, which is withdrawing flights on the two domestic sectors.

Bintulu is a coastal town on the island of Borneo in the central region of Sarawak, Malaysia, located 610 km northeast of Kuching, 216 km northeast of Sibu, and 200 km southwest of Miri.

Sibu is an inland town at the central region of Sarawak state Malaysia and the capital of Sibu District.

On the Kota Kinabalu- Bintulu route AirAsia will offer double daily services using an Airbus A320.

The first flight departs Kota Kinabalu at 0600 and lands at Bintulu at 0710. The return flight departs Bintulu at 0735 and arrives in Kota Kinabalu at 0845

The second daily service departs Kota Kinabalu at 1530 and arrives in Bintulu at 1640. The return flight departs Bintalu at 1705 and arrives in Kota Kinabalu at 1815.

The Kota Kinabalu – Sibu route, starting 1 January 2019, will also be served by two daily flights.

An early morning flight departs Kota Kinabalu at 0600 and arrives in Sibu at 0720. The return flight departs Sibu at 0745 and arrives in Kota Kinabalu at 0905.

The second flight departs in the evening at 1840 from Kota Kinabalu and arrives in Sibu at 2000. The return flight departs Sibu at 2025 and arrives in Kota Kinabalu at 2145.
