HANOI, 2 November 2018: A smart tourism information portal called VTV Travel will launch this December, claiming it will deliver smart tourism experiences for visitors.
A joint venture agreement was signed late last month between the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam Television, Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, and Nam Viet Corp.
VTV Travel will be developed alongside the launch of a VTV Travel app, featuring a portal with the address of www.dulich.vtv.vn for Vietnamese language and www.travel.vtv.vn for English language.
It will also establish a customer service call centre at 1039 to support feedback and extend service and assistance.
Essentially, the project will provide a database on tourist destinations and offer videos highlighting tourism promotions in various destinations and regions across Vietnam, while keeping users updated on necessary tourist information based on their shared current location.
Under the agreement, Viettel will build the tourism database and operating system with various services, apps and functions, such as a payment capability and internet services to assist foreign visitors when travelling in Vietnam and to support Vietnamese nationals when they travel overseas.
On the sidelines of the launch, officials said they had introduced a competition to name and brand the system with the prize worth up to VND20 million for the winning title and slogan.
