THAI applauds Nagoya anniversary

BANGKOK, 5 October 2018: Thai Airways International celebrated 30 year of flights to Nagoya, Japan, last week.

It hosted a reception themed “the World is Always New with THAI,” presided over by THAI  chairman of the Board of Directors Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and attended by THAI president Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI senior advisor Usanee Sangsingkeo and THAI executive vice president commercial, Wiwat Piyawiroj.

THAI’s top management and the airline’s general managers in Japan welcomed Bansarn Bunnag, ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan and VIPs and representatives of the travel trade in Nagoya.

THAI has served Nagoya for 30 years since 31 October 1988 first as a codeshare flight with Japan Airlines, offering just two flights weekly using an Airbus A300-600.

Nagoya is the third largest city in Japan and is a highly popular destination in Japan, in addition to Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

In addition to its tourist attractions, Japan is a popular business travel destination, while Thailand has always been a popular destinations for Japanese travellers and a connecting hub for passengers flying to other destinations in the region.

Currently, THAI operates 77 flights per week to five cities or six airports. They are: Tokyo (Narita and Haneda); Osaka; Nagoya; Fukuoka and Sapporo.

Currently, THAI operates 14 roundtrip flights a week between Bangkok and Nagoya using Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
